Seeking support before, during, or after your abortion?
Abortion doulas are people who have been trained to support pregnant people and their communities before, during, or after their abortions. Since the beginning of time people have been supporting one another on all reproductive fronts—including birth, abortions, miscarriages, adoptions, & parenting. Our goal is to make sure people have access to the support they feel they need. We are here for you!
We may be able to offer you support—
Before your abortion:
Information on abortion clinics & abortion options
Support & information & help scheduling your appointment
Help you understand the abortion laws in Wisconsin
Secure transportation and childcare
Access funding for your abortion
During your abortion:
Enter the clinic with you (may be helpful if there are protesters)
Wait with you before the procedure as a calm, kind presence
Hold your hand during the procedure and provide breathing prompts, aromatherapy, affirmations (in-clinic abortions)
Provide pain coping techniques and other physical & mental support (medication abortion)
After your abortion:
Make sure you have the support you need (physically, mentally, emotionally)
Process the experience (even months or years later)
Help you access additional resources
